About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Consultant to join our growing team. As a Consultant, you will play a vital role in delivering our range of services, helping clients improve their payroll processes, select the right technology, and resolve project challenges. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Assessments & Health Checks: Conduct comprehensive payroll assessments to identify errors, ensure compliance, and uncover cost-saving opportunities. Deliver clear and actionable assessment reports with certification. 

  • Payroll Consultancy & Project Mediation: Provide expert consulting services to optimise payroll operations, redesign workflows, and enhance compliance. Mediate and resolve conflicts between clients and vendors on technology projects, ensuring successful outcomes. 

  • Payroll Efficiency Improvements: Streamline payroll processes, reduce administrative burdens, and implement technology improvements to enhance operational efficiency. 

  • Payroll Vendor Selection Support: Guide clients through the vendor selection process, from requirements scoping and supplier research to procurement and implementation support. 

  • Payroll Technology Optimisation: Review and enhance existing payroll technology, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our clients. 

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions. 

  • Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and participating in proposal development. 

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in payroll operations, systems, compliance, and best practices. 

  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll regulations and legislation. 

  • Proven ability to conduct payroll assessments, identify errors, and recommend solutions. 

  • Strong consulting skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations and develop effective strategies. 

  • Experience in managing payroll technology projects and mediating vendor relationships. 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPP) is desirable.
